Function of Beauty – Manhattan, NY.

This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer as the company-wide lead for the development, improvement, and troubleshooting of our automated production equipment and collaborative robotics.
We design and build production equipment as unique as our products. We also design, write, and maintain the control software for that equipment. We do all of this rapidly.
This role will be challenging and rewarding; for the right person, it will be a huge amount of fun.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently, work as a team member; lead and coordinate teams of developers, engineers, assemblers, and maintenance personnel
  • Support the development, implementation, improvement, and maintenance of automated production equipment
  • Support the development, implementation, improvement, and maintenance of software to automate various aspects of accounting, inventory control, production, quality assurance, and other business areas
  • Write documentation of new and existing equipment and software
  • Develop and execute policies and procedures to ensure data integrity
  • Communicate professionally and effectively across all internal business areas

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Python, or similar programming languages
  • Experience with SQL and relational database systems
  • Project management, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision
  • Some travel may be required

Function of Beauty – Manhattan, NY.

This role reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible for all things relating to the physical product a consumer receives - from exterior packaging to product packaging to chemical formulas to add-on items. The consumer is at the center of what we do, and their needs are important and unique. The product team plays a critical role in ensuring we keep raising the bar for excellence, and make as many people as possible love our products as we can. The role requires a mix of strategic thinking, influence and negotiation, project management, and efficient prioritization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a robust understanding of the brands and businesses that are vying for our target consumers’ mindshare and wallet - in the personalized hair space, and in the hair space at large.
  • Be the internal expert on our consumers, what they want and need, and how effectively we’re delivering on those needs; represent what’s best for them across conversations with competing needs.
  • Utilize all of our existing information as well as conducting user surveys (social media & email) to build up an even clearer picture of issues and opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities, and work with R&D and/or the product team to improve the existing customer experience across all hair types (bottles, pumps, boxes, formulas, fragrances) while also managing cost and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities, and work with cross-functional team on progressing and improving a full pipeline of new products (colors, fragrances, packaging limited editions, category expansions, regimen expansions, add-on items, gifts, etc.)
  • Develop and coach a team of 2-3 high performing individuals.
  • Utilize all available information sources to identify core business levers, and be willing to advocate for future actions to follow through on these.
  • Understand the team’s needs and interdependencies, anticipate fire-drills before they happen, and keep projects on clear success launch pathways.
  • Be the leader for sustainability strategy for the organization to minimize our footprint across all touchpoints and make consumer-relevant.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in brand management & new product development
  • Outstanding project management & strong communication skills
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree; MBA a plus
  • Proven ability to develop consumer-driven new products from start to finish
  • Experience in ecommerce, DTC business models and/or fast-paced start-up environment preferred
  • Hair care experience preferred

Experienced Inventory Manager wanted for emerging high-tech corporation. The ideal candidate will have experience handling large quantities of products, coordinating shipping and receiving of those products in between plants. Must display the ability to function and problem-solve in a fast-paced industrial environment, familiarity with regulatory agencies, and the initiative to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate product inventory for clients
  • Conduct daily analyses to forecast potential inventory issues
  • Report on inventory activities and variances
  • Assess new inventory to ensure it is ready for shipping or delivery
  • Examine the levels of supplies and raw material to determine shortages
  • Document daily deliveries and shipments to update inventory
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approved specification
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
